2023-2024, print, motion graphics, illustration 2024 calendar

This marks the 4th edition of my illustrated calendar series, and it is a special one. This year’s theme is centred around a loose concept of home and all its associated feelings, such as coziness or safety. If you saw the past versions of this project, you may have noticed that this time around the illustrations have taken a much more geometric shape – it only felt fitting that a subject which can have so many meanings and forms should be treated with a higher level of abstraction. Still, you may recognise certain objects from around the house, such as the trusty tote bags, the house plant jungle, or the winning game of whist – the things that make home feel like home.

A new edition called for a new, more complex and ambitious design, which is why these copies were printed on the risograph – a very cool mode of printing which involves using only one colour at the time and resulting in remarkably vibrant tones, unlike anything a normal printer can do. A digital, animated version of the calendar is also available online.

Whether you end up hanging this calendar on your fridge at home or above your desk at work, I hope it brings you comfort and reminds you of the things you love (and less importantly, helps you keep on track with your schedule)!
